Ann "Annie" Lyons

September 10, 1960 — October 16, 2021

Ann Marie Lyons, age 61, a lifelong resident of Cold Spring, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 16th, 2021.

Born and raised in Cold Spring, on Locust Ridge, Annie, as she was known by her family and friends was born on September 10th, 1960 to the late Elizabeth Ann (Allen) Lyons and Ralph R. Lyons. She attended Our Lady of Loretto Elementary School and graduated from Haldane High School in 1978. She was employed at the Garden Conservancy for many years as the manager for the Open Days Program Catalog Distribution.

Annie is survived by her loving daughter and best friend, Megan Lyons-Dain and her son-in-law James Dain whom she loved both dearly. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends and her sidekick, Pitbull-mix, Candy.

Annie was an avid New York Giants and New York Rangers fan. She loved the Rolling Stones and attended many of their concerts. Being an animal lover, she would take in the smallest of animals and care for them and volunteered at many animal shelters. She was loved by many children in the community, and they naturally flocked to her. Annie mostly enjoyed spending time with her daughter Megan, who she was very proud of. They loved to shop together and take trips to the Catskill Game Farm and the Bronx Zoo. A devoted sports Mom, Annie thoroughly enjoyed all of Megan’s sports, especially Haldane, Downstate and Southern Connecticut State volleyball where they traveled all over the country with Betty Ann and Ralphie and their many friends and never missed a game. Annie lived an adventurous, full life and will be forever missed by her many family and friends.

Friends and family may call on Thursday, October 21st from 5-8pm at Clinton Funeral Home, 21 Parrott Street, Cold Spring. A funeral service will be held Thursday evening at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc. (ARF) 54 Simmons Lane Beacon, NY 12508 and reference Ann Marie Lyons in the memo.
