In Loving Memory of April Darlene Lyons

July 19, 1957 – October 27, 2025

With deep sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of April Darlene Lyons, a lifelong resident of Cold Spring, NY, who left us far too soon at the age of 68.

April was born on July 19, 1957, to the late David and Jacqueline Lyons and was a devoted daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother, whose love and laughter filled every room she entered.

She is survived by her loving partner, Mark Leader; her former husband, John Schubin and their children, Jonathan David Schubin (Jackie), Tiffany Schubin (Brian), and Sabrina Zeoli (Michael); her siblings, Charles Lyons (Lynn) and Shannon Lyons; and her adored dog "baby's", who brought her endless comfort

April was a proud grandmother to Jackson Schubin, Taylor Gnewuch, and Ava Zeoli. She leaves behind her cherished nieces Jade Lyons, Carrie Lyons, and Carley Lyons, all of whom held a special place in her heart, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever hold her memory close.

After a dedicated career at Indian Point, April retired and fully embraced the joys of life. She loved the sun, the beach, and any excuse for a getaway, whether a girls trip, a night at the casino, or a quiet afternoon browsing tag sales. She had a soft spot for the color purple, and a special love for lilacs. April could never resist finding the next best steamer on QVC. She had a sweet tooth for late night Carvel ice cream and a deep love for family gatherings, especially her cherished Christmas Eve dinners, which she hosted beautifully year after year.

April’s passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of all who loved her. Her spirit will continue to guide us, reminding us to find joy in simple moments and to hold each other close.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 5:00PM-8:00PM at Clinton Funeral Home, 21 Parrott Street, Cold Spring. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Loretto Church , 24 Fair Street, Cold Spring on Wednesday, November 5 at 10:00AM, burial will follow in Cold Spring Cemetery
