Carole Hayes

Carole J. Newman Hayes of Middletown passed away peacefully on June 19, 2021.  She was 75.
Born on May 10, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Hyman and Pauline Gould Newman. She is predeceased by her brother Jesse Newman.
Carole has been a Middletown resident since 1970 when she came to live in Orange County and start her family.  She worked for Orange County Community College in the library for many years then went on to work at Middletown High School in the attendance office and retired in 2008 from Orange County Department of Social Services.
Carole enjoyed reading, shopping, laughing, cooking for her family and friends, and spending time with her loved ones.
On August 26, 1989, she married Daniel Hayes. Dan survives at home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her beloved children Andrea Gallagher and her husband Bryan of Oradell, NJ, and Lara Demberg Voloto and her husband Steven of Cold Spring, NY.  7 grandchildren Kyra, Aidan and Jack Cimino, Emma, Katie, and Ayva Gallagher and Sam Voloto, her brothers Stephen and Howard Ginsburg, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her best friend Diane Morris.
Funeral Services took place on Monday, June 21, 2021 in Cold Spring with Rabbi Abby Sosland officiating.  Burial followed in Cold Spring Cemetery.
