Edward Griffiths

December 16, 1940 — April 24, 2022

Edward Thomas James Griffiths of Cold Spring, New York formerly of the Bronx, passed away on Sunday April 24, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was 81 years old. Born on December 16, 1940 in the Bronx, to the late Francis and Emma Marie HvastaGriffiths.

Ed grew up in the Bronx where he worked as a building superintendent for 20 years. After moving from the Bronx to Cold Spring in 1992, with his wife Trude and their son Chris, Ed enjoyed his time hunting, fishing and hiking around the Hudson Valley.

He always lived life on his own terms and thoroughly enjoyed a good joke. He had a great sense of humor and outlook on life.

While living in Cold Spring Ed worked various jobs including the Fishkill Golf Course and at his last job acted as the only security guard who did the graveyard shift at Boscobel Restoration.

Ed is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years Trude, his loving children Christopher and his wife Melanie Griffiths and, his other son Michael Griffiths. His dear siblings, Frank and Bobby Griffiths and Jeanie Walsh and, her husband Ray.

Edward’s legacy will be passed down through his cherished grandchildren, Noah Samuel and, CalebEdward Griffiths


In addition to his parents Edward is predeceased by his son, Edward Griffiths Jr. and his siblings, Johnny, Louie and Carol Ann Griffiths.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday April 27, 2022 at 1pm at Cold Spring Cemetery, Cold Spring.

Burial will follow.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Clinton Funeral Home- Cold Spring.
