Erna Vecchione

Erna C. Vecchione 84, died peacefully at home in Cold Spring NY on February 12, 2021. She was born March 1, 1936 in Rigewood, Queens, NY   the daughter of Egbert and Erna (Schmidt) Timmerman.

Erna married her High School beau, Vincent J. Vecchione in 1958  and resided in Glendale NY where they raised four children. In 1978, they relocated to Pleasantville, NY where they lived for 38 years until moving to Cold Spring in 2015.  In August 2020 Erna and Vincent celebrated 62 years of marriage.

Mrs. Vecchione is survived by her husband Vincent, daughter Nancy Lex of Mahopac, son Robert Vecchione & wife Agnes of Poughquag, daughter Linda Przybocki & husband Kenneth of Fort Wayne,IN, son Richard Vecchione of Cortlandt Manor and  nine grandchildren;Andrew Lex, Matthew Lex, Marisa Vecchione Ruiz & husband Will, Michael Vecchione,  Nicholas Przybocki, Valerie Przybocki, Thomas Przybocki, Ashlee Przybocki, Anthony Vecchione, great grandchild Cole Ruiz and nieces & nephew John Vecchione , Brenda Spezialy and Laura Vecchione.

Erna devoted most of her life as a loving wife and mother. Her hobbies were gardening and crafts, such as needle work, floral arrangements and refinishing vintage furniture. While in Pleasantville she was an active member of the Pleasantville Garden Club assisting in the planting of shrubbery and flowers in the village. Erna loved spending time with her grandchildren and baking some of the German recipes handed down from her mother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 19th at Our Lady of Loretto Church, Cold Spring NY at 11am.

Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery 10 W Stevens Avenue Hawthorne , New York.
