Gloriann Nancy Marguglio –
With Love and In Remembrance
February 20, 1936 – September 9, 2025
When I informed Gloriann’s family members and dear friends of her passing, many of them said that she was the sweetest and most considerate person they had ever known. All of them said that their lives were enriched by knowing her. Certainly, my life was enriched by her love and consideration for me. She taught me and many of her dear family members and dear friends, as well, much about life, human relationships, and spirituality. Gloriann surely is now with God.
All her life, Gloriann was a devout Christian. She rigidly and consistently practiced God’s tenets. She had all the attributes of integrity, all the time. Gloriann surely is now with God.
Gloriann spent her long working life as an accredited speech pathologist, devotedly serving her patients, first as a nun in the Roman Catholic Church, then as head of the Southern Methodist University Speech and Hearing Pathology Laboratory in Dallas, Texas and, finally, as the speech pathologist for Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Flower Mound, Texas – except for her stint as a consultant to Girl Scouts of America troop managers.
Gloriann worked with throat cancer patients, mostly seniors. I know of one patient with whom she worked privately for approximately fifteen years. I know of a few other cases she handled at the hospital. Only God knows how many hundreds of patients had improved and extended lives as a result of her devoted treatment. Gloriann surely is now with God.
Gloriann got her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Marquette University and she spent a summer taking an intensive management course at Harvard University.
A mass was held for Gloriann at Our Lady of Loretto Roman Catholic Church in Cold Spring, NY. Gloriann is at rest in the beautiful Cold Spring Cemetery next to our parents, as she wished.
Gloriann’s surviving immediate family members include me, her brother, Ben Marguglio; her sister-in-law, Beth Marguglio; her nephews, Dayne and Troy Marguglio; her grand-niece, Nina Marguglio; and her grand-nephews, David and Liam Marguglio. Her other surviving dear relatives and dear friends are too numerous to list.
