John E. Morse of Poughkeepsie passed away on January 7, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was 89.

Born on November 30, 1936 in Waukegan Illinois to the late John and Marguerite Brumm Morse.

John grew up on Grayslake, Illinois and enjoyed working on his computer, deep sea fishing, and RVing with his family. He retired from IBM where he was an Engineer for 33 years. After retirement, he worked at Adams in Poughkeepsie prior to moving to Massachusetts.

John is survived by his children Brian Morse of Germany and Carol Sculco of Poughkeepsie. His grandchildren Kirk McCann, Jennifer Lorefice, Jessica Sculco, Mary Colon, Jessica Stewart and Frankie Sculco along with 10 Great Grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife Mary Morse and his longtime girlfriend Carol Brennan and a daughter LeeMarie Teja, a great grand child Alexis Sculco

Friends may call on Wednesday January 14,2026 from 4-7pm at Parmele Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home 110 Fulton Ave, Poughkeepsie. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday January 15, 2026 at 11am at Union Cemetery, Hyde Park.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Clinton Funeral Home, Cold Spring.
