Joseph Charles Marchese II
It is with profound sadness we mourn the passing of Joe, a beloved husband of Laurie Giraud-Marchese for 35 years, dedicated father, grandfather, son-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, godfather, uncle, friend, and businessman. Joe passed away in the comfort of his own home on Tuesday, November 19th surrounded by his wife and sons. Along with Laurie, Joe is survived by his sons Joseph, Matthew, Christopher and Jay, daughter-in-laws Angela and Kelsey, granddaughters, Veronica and Madeline, and a Husky named Lucky.
In recent years Joe and Laurie split their residency between New York and Florida. A proud man of a few words, Joe kept a tight, intimate circle of friends.
He was known and respected for his exemplary work ethic, business acumen and commitment to excellence. In his 40+ years in the insurance industry employees and clients thrived under Joe’s leadership.
Beyond his professional achievements Joe was an athlete of any sport he attempted. He was an avid fisherman and member of the Cold Spring Boat Club who spent much time on the waters from the Hudson River to Montauk down to the Florida Keys and all the way to the rivers of Alaska. He loved to spend time in the kitchen and was an excellent cook. Joe had an affection for fast cars, Cuban cigars and Johnny Walker Black. He attended the University of Pittsburgh which led him to become a lifelong Steelers fan. Joe was a gifted photographer who received many awards and was credentialed to photograph the New York Jets from the sidelines and locker room.
Joe held many titles in his storied life from Coach to President of the Phillipstown Little League to Executive Vice President at Alliant, but his most valued roles was that of husband, father and grandfather.
While Joe was taken from us way too soon, his impact and legacy will live on.
