Marcus Antonio Plummer passed away September 14 after a long battle with various illnesses. He was 29.

Born October 29, 1996 in Albany, New York, Marcus was raised in Cold Spring from the age of five by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Katharine Plummer. He attended Haldane, where he was a proud member of the Banana Splits Club, a support group for kids who were growing up in non-traditional families. He faced racist taunting from a young age and was undaunted. He made strong friends at Haldane, and was known for his enthusiasm and sincerity, his ease with laughter, his love of exuberance, and his large heart. His cousins, Charlie and James Plummer, were also his neighbors and his frequent playmates as children. A natural athlete, he was active in sports at Haldane and through the Philipstown Rec Department.

Marcus moved to the Harvey School in sixth grade, where he was a stalwart member of the hockey team, a great love of his, as well as other sports teams. He graduated jointly from Harvey and the Oakley School in Utah in 2015.

With his grandparents, Marcus had the great fortune to travel to Japan, Tanzania, British Columbia, France, Cyprus, Chile, and throughout the United States.

His battles with physical illness began in 2016 with his diagnosis of type 1 diabetes while a student at Westminster College.

In 2020, Marcus and Lauren Agudo’s lives were forever changed when she gave birth to their son, Myles Antonio.

Marcus is predeceased by his mother, Suzanne, and his uncle, Ben, both of whom had large impacts on his young life. Their deaths impacted him in ways we cannot fathom. In addition to Myles, he is survived by his grandparents, his uncle John and aunt Maia Guest, cousins Charlie and James, his father, Alfred Bond, with whom he had happily reconnected in the past few years, and his extended family through his father. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2026, at 11 am at St. Phillips Church, 1101 Route 9D,  Garrison, to celebrate Marcus' life.
