Margaret Budney

Margaret Irene Budney, formally of Cold Spring, died Saturday, January 6, 2024.  Born August 1, 1933 she was the daughter of Harris and Margaret Seabolt of Garrison.  Margaret was a 1950 graduate of Haldane High School and continued her education at White Plains Jr College.  She graduated in 1952 and was a certified dietitian.

Margaret married the love of her life, James Budney, on June 19, 1954.  She was an active member of Our Lady of Loretto parish for over 50 years and held many volunteer positions including, organist for the children’s choir and serving on the Church Council.  After retiring to Florida, Margaret continued to volunteer at Holy Name of Jesus Church.  Margaret returned to New York and continue to be active with The Church of St. Anthony in Nanuet, NY volunteering at the catholic school.  Margaret was also a sorority member of Beta Sigma Phi for over 50 years.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Harris and Margaret Seabolt, her loving spouse James J. Budney Sr, and her siblings.  She is survived by her five children, James and Denise Budney of The Colony, TX, Douglas and Margaret Budney of Sherman, CT, Margaret (Missy) and Anthony Paolicelli of Georgetown, DE, Judy and David Lagasse of Roswell, GA and Susan and Gordon Tyler of Chestnut Ridge, NY.  Margaret was also the proud grandmother of thirteen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren (and one on the way).

Viewing will be held  on Friday January 12,2024 from 4-8pm at Clinton Funeral Home in Cold Spring, NY, A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday January 13,2024 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Loretto Church ,24 Fair Street, Cold Spring.  Interment will follow at Cold Spring Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Loretto Church or St. Anthony Church.
