Nicholas Anthony Fortuso

In Loving Memory of Nicholas Anthony FortusoNicholas Anthony Fortuso, lovingly known as “Nick,” passed away on June 14, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on August 6, 1946, he was the son of Nicholas A. Fortuso and Margaret Pone Fortuso.Nick proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. 

His service was recognized with military honors at his burial, a lasting tribute to his dedication and sacrifice.

Nick was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, AnnMarie, and his brother, Frank Fortuso. He is survived by his sister, Geri Fanelli; his son-in-law, Angelo Caccoma; and his cherished grandson, Rocco Fortuso Caccoma.Like many families, ours shared both joyful moments and difficult times. 

Nick could be a complicated man, but those who knew him also remember moments of laughter, holidays spent together, stories shared around the dinner table, and memories that have stood the test of time. Those moments remain a part of his legacy.Sadly, after Nick’s passing, only a brief death notice was published. No obituary was written to tell the story of his life. This tribute is offered so that his name, his service, and his place in our family’s history are remembered.Nick lived through decades of change, served his country with honor, and experienced both triumphs and hardships throughout his life.

 Though he is no longer with us, he leaves behind a family whose lives were forever shaped by his presence.May he now find the peace that eluded him at times during life. He will be remembered, and his story will not be forgotten.

Burial was in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, New York with Military honors, under the direction of Clinton Funeral Home- Cold Spring.
