Richard Tomlins

Richard Tomlins Jr., of Cold Spring NY, passed away unexpectedly on February 15, 2018 at the age of 43. Richard was born February 12th, 1975 at Butterfield Hospital in Cold Spring, NY to the parents of Richard Tomlins and Donna Steltz (Clarke).

He was a proud father to his daughter Sophie Tomlins. Richie leaves behind his mother Donna (Dave), sister Heather (Kevin) Browne, and brother Matthew (Kerrie). His aunts Elizabeth Mancari, Mary Hale, and Uncle Donald Clarke. Nieces and nephews, Matthew Richard Browne, Winter Steltz, Jax Steltz, and Carter Browne. His girlfriend Amanda Armstrong, her sons Nate and Sam, and several cousins.

Richard was predeceased by his father, Richard Tomlins and maternal grandparents Francis Clarke (Lyons) and Donald Clarke.

Richie was a lifelong jokester, a 25-year member of the Cold Spring Fire Company, a member of the Local 137 of the International Union Operating Engineers, and a current employee of the Putnam County Highway Department. He was avid fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and Notre Dame Football.

Never the one to miss an opportunity make a joke at the expense of himself or others, he was always entertaining, and was the ultimate deliver of one-liners. He was a loving and caring friend, companion, and relative who will be greatly missed but remembered every day.

Friends may call on Monday February 19, 2018 from 3-6pm at Clinton Funeral Home, 21 Parrott Street, Cold Spring.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday February 20, 2018 at 10am at Our Lady of Loretto Church, Cold Spring.  Interment will follow in Cold Spring Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cold Spring Fire Company No.1, 154 Main Street, Cold Spring, New York 10516.
