Obituary

Robert John Pallatto, known as “Bob,” of Kent, New York, passed away on May 15, 2026, at the age of 72.He was born on July 16, 1953, in White Plains, New York.

He was raised by his mother, Lillian Dutchman, a hardworking nurse who raised him as a single parent. Bob spent summers on his uncle’s dairy farm in Pennsylvania, where he developed a lifelong love for animals. As a young man, he joined the Civil Air Patrol and had the opportunity to pilot a single-engine propeller plane, an experience he cherished and often compared to his boyhood hero, test pilot Chuck Yeager. He graduated from high school in 1971, where he began developing his passion for carpentry, as well as his lifelong interests in Mopars, motorcycles, and music.

Bob worked as a union carpenter and took great pride in his craft. He built his family’s home in Kent himself, creating a place filled with years of memories. He enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, landscaping, and building rock walls around his property. In his spare time, he restored vintage Harley-Davidson motorcycles and was a skilled target shooter at the county range. Bob was also known for his cooking, especially the Thanksgiving dinners he hosted, where there was always more than enough to share.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Joan; his children, Katie and Bob; and his grandson, Owen, with whom he shared a special bond and a love for anything on wheels.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Clinton Funeral Home in Cold Spring, New York.
