Ruth Valentine “Betty” of Cold Spring passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, at home. She was 96.
Born on June 5, 1929 in Bloomfield, New Jersey to the late Joseph and Ruth Boyer Mooney.
Ruth moved to Middletown New York with her family and relocated to Cold Spring in 1946 to be with her sister. She met Raymond Valentine and the they were married on April 24, 1949, at Our Lady of Loretto Church.
She enjoyed Sewing, reading and crossword puzzles. Prior to her retiring she worked at the Cold Spring and Garrison Post Office.
Ruth is survived by her loving children, Raymond and his wife Danielle, Daniel and his wife Carol, Janice and her husband Jack Villetto, and Elizabeth and her husband John Majors Her Cherished Grandchildren, Danny Valentine and his wife Maggie, Cory Valentine and his wife Jamie, Jeremy Valentine and his wife Veronica Oster, Jackie Villetto and his wife Marissa, Joseph majors and his wife Rachel, Amy and her husband Greg Sutton, and Jillian and her husband Michael Kahns. She is also survived by 17 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Valentine and her siblings, Chet Mooney, Verna Fitzgerald and Marion Amatrano.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday April 21, 2026 at 11am at Our Lady of Loretto, 24 Fair Street, Cold Spring. Interment will follow in Cold Spring Cemetery.
