Spiros Peter Angelopoulos

Spiros Peter Angelopoulos of Garrison, NY passed away peacefully on November 13, 2022 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  He was 59.

Spiros is survived by his dear mother Helen Papapanagiotou Angelopoulos of Tarsina, Corinth, Greece; his devoted wife Anita Hall of Garrison, NY; loving children 2^nd LT US Army Alexandra Angelopoulos of Fort Sill, OK, and Peter Angelopoulos of Garrison, NY; his mother and father-in law Nancy and Warren Hall of Poughkeepsie, NY; sister and brother in-law, Allison and O’Neal Miller of Deerfield, IL, his nephews Wes and Shane Miller of Deerfield, IL; and his aunts and uncles, Ermione Lambos of Queens, NY; Diamanto and Nick Lymberopoulos, Marina and Vlassi Papapanagiotou and Marika and Stratos Zervos of Greece.  He is also survived by many beloved cousins in the US and Greece.   

He was born on August 1, 1963 in Montreal, Canada; the only child of Helen and the late Peter Angelopoulos. The family lived in CA and the Bronx, before settling in Ossining, NY.

Spiros was raised in Ossining, working as a stockbroker on the New York Stock Exchange during 9-11.  He transitioned to other businesses, most recently working as a commercial real estate agent for CR Properties in Poughkeepsie, NY. 

Spiros married Anita Hall in 1995 and the family settled in Garrison, NY, what he liked to call “a little piece of heaven”; the river, the woods, a place where friends became your family. Spiros was always available when anyone called, volunteering at GUFS,  making sets at O’Neill High School, or just helping neighbors in need.  He loved cars, hockey, airplanes, tennis, fishing, good food and wine, and, of course, his family and friends.

A special memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 16, 2022 at St. Basil’s, 79 St Basil's Rd, Garrison, NY 10524.
