Virginia M. Hall age 96, of Carmel, NY, formerly of Cold Spring, NY, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Sept. 20, 2026. Virginia (Beihl) Hall was born in Brooklyn, NY, on Oct. 21, 1929, to parents, Edward Francia Beihl and Elizabeth Eva Beihl.
From an early age, Virginia had a passion for learning and teaching. Later in life, Virginia attended SUNY New Paltz, where she earned a degree in education and eventually received her master’s degree. Following her college days, Virginia dedicated her life to educating young people, where she made an impact on countless lives over her expansive teaching career. Over time, she worked at the Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School as well as the Garrison Union Free School and was a keynote speaking at educational conferences.
Virginia also loved to travel. In July 1949, Virginia married the love of her life, Clifford C. Hall. For the next 42 years, the couple shared a love for travel, education, classical music and each other, until Cliffords passing in 1992. They traveled as much as possible, embracing the cultural experiences, wherever they would go.
Virginias musical talents were not wasted, and she could often be heard playing piano at the Cold Spring Senior Center.
Her life experiences of almost a century were often shared with those who would sit and talk with her. Virginia would tell stories of travel, making those she shared with almost feel like they were there. Her smile and energy would light up the room and no matter what the day brought, Virginia found a way to be positive and happy about it.
Having no children of her own, Virginia welcomed friends into her life, whom she treated like family. Some of those friends had the privilege of assisting Virginia in her life, throughout her senior years. Among them were Claudia Arenas, Berneley de Jesus and Paula O’Malley, all of whom will sadly miss her friendship, love and company.
Virginia was predeceased by her husband Clifford Hall and parents Edward and Elizabeth Beihl. She is survived by cousins, Janet Drewes(NJ), and Marie McConville Twal(CA) nephew Fred Beihl (PA), as well as dear friends Claudia, Berneley, Paula and many at The Plaza at Clover Lake.
Following cremation, a service will be held on October 3, 2026 from 11AM – 1PM at Clinton Funeral Home, 21 Parrot St., Cold Spring, NY, with a graveside service to follow at the Cold Spring Cemetery.
