Bruce Campbell

September 12, 1953 — September 14, 2020

Bruce Campbell a lifelong resident of Cold Spring passed away suddenly on September 14, 2020 at home.  He was 67.

Born on September 12, 1953 in Cold Spring to the late Duncan and Helen Dalzell Campbell.

Bruce graduated from Haldane class of 1972 and went on to attend Dutchess Community College.

Bruce worked for 35 years at West Point as a Communications Specialist retiring in 2008.  After retiring from West Point Bruce went to work for the Cold Spring Highway Department where he was currently employed.  He was an avid golfer and working at the Southern Dutchess Country Club and the Garrison Golf Course.  He was the Commodore at the West Point Yacht Club and a member of the  Cold Spring Boat Club.

In 2002 Bruce decided to enter politics and was elected to 5 terms as Village Trustee in Cold Spring serving from 2002-2010, in 2010 he served as Deputy Mayor and was also the Chairman for the Village of Cold Spring Recreation Department from 2013-2018.  He was also elected to the Haldane Board of Education.

Bruce was a member of the Cold Spring Jaycees and the Cold Spring Lions Club where he made many good friends.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife Patricia Campbell whom he married on September 17, 1983 at home, Loving Son Evan Campbell of New York City.  A Brother John Campbell, 2 Sisters Kathy and Linda Campbell along with numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Sunday September 20, 2020 from 2-5pm at Clinton Funeral Home, 21 Parrott Street, Cold Spring.  In observance of New York State guidelines, we will be limiting visitors to no more than 33% of our maximum capacity; A distance of at least 6 ft. must be maintained amongst all individuals inside our funeral home and acceptable face coverings must be worn while inside. We kindly ask after paying your respects, that you exit promptly so that we can continue to move guests in and out of the funeral home.

On Monday September 21, 2020 at 10:30am a graveside service will be held at Cold Spring Cemetery, Cold Spring.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Clinton Funeral Home- Cold Spring.
